Getting to Arthur Wakefield Motor Inn

Located on the main street of Richmond, guests have banks, post office, internet cafes, supermarkets, restaurants and a range of other shops at the door step. There is a gymnasium facility close to the Motor Inn. The Nelson Airport is a 10 minute drive from the motor inn, and Nelson City is 15 kilometres and a short drive. Picton and the inter-island ferry service is less than 2 hours (120 kilometres) drive from Richmond. Christchurch is 424 kilometres away and about 5 hours to drive.

The surrounding district is home to over 300 fulltime artists and crafts people together with numerous wineries. Farewell Spit and the many bird colonies are about 2.5 hours drive, and horse riding, sky diving, golf and Eco tours are available in the surrounding area. The Abel Tasman National Park is just over an hour drive, with a number of rivers suitable for trout fishing less than hour from Richmond.
